Traverse Bay Confections opened for business in June 2001 and today their unique products can be found in fine retailers such as Nordstrom, Sur La Table, Harry & David and others across the country.
Richard Anderson, Owner and Culinarian, began his culinary career during high school when he worked at a local neighborhood restaurant. After high school, Rich entered the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where he was voted "Most likely to succeed " by his fellow classmates. After graduation, Rich traveled extensively throughout Europe to gain exposure and knowledge of the European culture and food. Inspired by his experience, he returned to the CIA to complete further training in Chocolate and Pastry. Since then, Rich has been a chef and sous chef at fine restaurants throughout the U.S. Traverse Bay Confections was inspired by Rich's passion for food and a dream to own his own business. Rich's expertise in creating distinctive products with a truly gourmet taste and beautiful packaging has brought wide spread attention to his confections. Most recently, our Chocolate Gingerbread Drop Cookies were featured on the cover of Fancy Food and Culinary Products magazine in their ultimate holiday issue. All of our confections are hand made from Rich's personal recipes with the finest natural ingredients and using traditional techniques. Our cookies do not contain sodium or chemical based preservatives and we are proud to use premium Guittard chocolate in our products. Rich’s focus is to ensure that every product leaving the facility is perfect in quality and flavor and that our customer service is among the best in the industry.
